Studies in American Indian Literatures (SAIL) is the only journal in the United States that focuses exclusively on American Indian a wide scope of scholars and creative contributors, this journal is on the cutting edge of activity in the field. This book is fabulous because the letters were written by the actual men serving in the Union Army. The accompanying commentaries are brief and helpful. Every American would benefit from reading these letters and learning about the history of black Americans. I would recommend this book to everyone and especially to high school students/5(8). I liked reading Studies in Classic American Literature by D.H. Lawrence, and I found it full of interesting quotes. My favorite is certainly one present at the beginning of the book, where Lawrence talks about new experiences. "The world fears a new experience more than it fears anything/5.
